As a tribute to the column’s architectural significance, designer Simon Legald has chosen to emphasize the column’s form in his otherwise straightforward Scala design. This has the added benefit of providing the table with a high degree of stability. Scala’s characteristic frame is composed of four columns that change in expression depending on the vantage point.
